What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the site operator.

Cookies on the OCT dashboard and marketing site

We use a single essential cookie on offlineconversionstracking.com:

Name Purpose Type Duration
sess Keeps you logged in to your OCT account. Without this cookie the dashboard cannot function. Strictly necessary / functional 30 days (refreshed on activity)

This cookie is:

  • HttpOnly — cannot be read by JavaScript, protecting against cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.
  • Secure — only transmitted over HTTPS connections.
  • SameSite=Lax — not sent on cross-site POST requests, protecting against cross-site request forgery (CSRF).

We do not use:

  • Analytics cookies (no Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Hotjar, etc.).
  • Advertising or retargeting cookies on the OCT domain.
  • Third-party social media cookies.

Cookies placed by the OCT tracking script on your website

The OCT tracking script (oct.js) that you install on your own website does not set any first-party cookies on your visitors' browsers.

However, the script may read the following cookie if it has already been set by Meta's pixel on your website:

Cookie name Set by What OCT does with it
_fbp Meta (Facebook) Pixel — only present if you have installed Meta's pixel on your site Reads the value and stores it alongside the lead record to improve Meta offline conversion matching. OCT does not set this cookie.

As the operator of your website, you are responsible for informing your visitors about cookies (including _fbp if Meta's pixel is present) in your own cookie policy and obtaining any necessary consents.

Managing cookies

Because the sess cookie is strictly necessary for the OCT dashboard to function, we do not offer an opt-out for it. If you wish to remove this cookie, you can clear your browser cookies or log out from the dashboard.

You can also configure your browser to block or delete cookies at any time. Note that blocking the session cookie will prevent you from logging in to OCT.

Updates to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy if we change the cookies we use. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when the most recent change was made.
